Until the Two are One
My first experience with Wilderness Torah was with this year’s Tu b’Shevat Seder, which took place in a lovely little redwood grove up in the Oakland hills. It was a wonderful celebration, with an excellent balance of music and meditation, mystical teachings and earth-based ceremony.
Our Seder’s readings and chants, teachings and blessings were deeply inspiring…so that when we were sent out on our experiential exercises, it was easy to enter into a deep place of reverence and awe, stunned to inner silence before the beauty and power of creation. A high point for me came in simply hugging the trunk of a small tree, doing it consciously, sensing the sap rising. Such an embodied experience of the essence of the festival! – to feel the life force rising up out of the earth, through the tree’s roots and tender trunk, even as its branches and leaves stretch toward the sun in our sky. For me this was such an embodied experience of the essence of the festival: to embrace this tree was to embrace the Holy One herself, and my own inner juices rose up strongly in the process.
In the very first Psalm, we find: ‘Fortunate is the person…whose desire is for Torah…for he shall be like a tree deeply rooted alongside brooks of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf never withers; and all that he does will succeed.’ (Psalm 1: 1-3) This is such a beautiful promise of perpetual renewal: through imbibing the living waters of Torah, even as the body ages, the soul itself continues to flourish, and in this way, brings forth benefit – delicious fruits – for others to enjoy.
The Torah itself is considered a miraculous tree: the Tree of Life, its roots growing through our skies – beyond, beyond. So…two trees: one rooted in the earth, flourishing beside the living waters, one rooted in eternity, growing into our world, wherever minds and hearts open to receive miraculous renewal. Tu b’Shevat is a holiday whose time has come: the need for us to heal and honor our earth-mother is so great.
May our ceremonies and our meditations, our actions and our prayers bring forth a harvest of goodness – from above, from below. May we live to see harmony and love prevail within all creation, between all creatures, to the glory of our common Creator.

I think patients need to understand that if they want their solo/two-doctor group to be there in the future that they will have to accept an alternative payment model (i.e. cash pay). Some of the future changes will certainly be welcome, such as new technologies that make both patient’s and doctor’s work easier and more efficient, but there will also be less-desired changes of more governmental interference, red tape, and an increase of insurance companies’ efforts to collect as much money from the patient and give as little as possible to providers. By breaking this unhealthly addiction to insurance/government patients would find their doctor to be able to provide a much better quality of care. I hope it happens.

I haven’t had a cig in over a year. The hardest aspect concerning stopping most likely the first week. I gave up cigs 3 days ago and it is really starting to affect me now. My mate keeps saying I won’t get it done however I am so focused of this I will. recently I began feeling painful sensations inside my gut and I really want a drag. I was studying a book in our library and I was so amazed at the things that the author highlighted in the book. He basically talked about life in general and how people disregard a lot of significant things and spending most of their time worrying on unimportant things. My partner and I saw a movie last night and I was so moved with the film . It was all about a family struggling because one of them was suffering from cancer. The movie made me realize a lot about life in general and the importance of family. I still can’t stop thinking about the article I read last week in the magazine about a young man who had a really difficult time in living his life but because of determination he was able to succeed in life and now possesses a business chain. Life in general can be like a wheel, every now and then you’re below but it doesn’t mean that you can never go up. I was watching a television program for the first time and my fascination grew on it because it was a funny series about life in general. The group of actors are not very well-known celebrities but the story line is really good that’s why I’m planning to stay on such series. We were discussing in class a artwork during the Renaissance period . It was a classy painting about life in general throughout those times. There were characters in the painting performing their daily habits and the painting was like a window of the earlier period. I was walking at the mall when I noticed a thief dashing towards the exit carrying a bag from a young lady. I was relieved that it wasn’t me whose bag was snatched but I felt sad for the victim. Life in general can be unexpectedly harsh for some of us. I was watching my children playing by the lawn and they were so busy playing with their toys. I constantly enjoy watching them as they are but every time I start thinking that they’ll be going to school soon worries me. Life in general can be very happy when you’re still young but things become difficult as you grow up. My pals and I are thinking to watch a movie at the theatre next week and we decided to watch a new film about an elderly man visiting his offspring after his wife’s murder and life in general. I was browsing a lifestyle magazine about how to raise your kids right and life in general. I had so much joy reading the magazine that I’m thinking to purchase an issue of it every month. Jimmy and I were talking about our job, how long we’ve stayed for the company and life in general. Sometimes when you’re emotionally down and discontented with your life, its inevitable to think about such things even in the workplace . My wife and I are thinking of spending a week jointly and head off the country for some quality time. We’ve been working really hard lately and we agreed it would be good for us to have a vacation once in a while. Thinking about one another and our life in general made us choose to rest even for a short time. I always enjoy going to the mountains and stay there in a cabin for a week to have some time for myself to escape from everything. It always relaxes me and it’s the only situations when I get the chance to think about life in general and its value . We just had our family get-together last month and I remembered something that our grandparents shared to us during supper about life in general. I find that moment very valuable because we were able to allocate time together and value the importance of each other.
My partner and I were discussing about our experiences and life in general. It was then when I felt how much I’m in love to him and how he feels precisely the same way for me. It was then when we decided it’s time for us to get married. I was on my way to visit a friend who is in a coma at the hospital subsequent to a car accident. While driving a couple of kilometers I was able to realize about how important it is to tell your loved ones each single day how much they mean to you and the relevance of life in general.
