Wilderness Torah Internship

Join the Wilderness Torah team! We are a fledgling Jewish nonprofit organization re-connecting Judaism to its earth-based and agricultural roots. Please see the rest of our website for more information about us.

As an intern, you will be instrumental in taking our organization to the next level and will be part of a fun, dedicated and passionate group of people.

Projects may include:

  • Events: Coordinating our Pilgrimage Festivals
  • Fundraising: Researching fundraising opportunities and donors, planning events, tracking
  • Online: Creating web content, updating our website, managing marketing emails
  • Market Research: Compiling market research and analyzing data from event evaluations
  • Marketing and Communications: Finding new avenues to market Wilderness Torah’s events and doing media outreach
  • Operations: Assisting with accounting, data entry and other database projects
  • And much more… we’re a start-up!

Skills needed:

Excellent organizational skills, general computer and web savvy, and a commitment to connecting Judaism and the earth.  You should be self-directed, committed and able to work well in a less structured work environment. Specific skills needed depend on your internship.

Benefits:

  • Develop your organizing, research and technical skills
  • Learn about what it’s like to get a nonprofit organization off the ground
  • Get one-on-one support from experienced staff members and volunteers
  • Participate in Wilderness Torah’s programming free of charge
  • Obtain experience you can include on your resume
  • Get to know amazing people in the earth-based Jewish community and beyond
  • Be a part of an exciting and growing movement and organization
  • Work at the David Brower Center in Berkeley
  • Make a difference – to this organization and to the world

This is an unpaid internship for approximately 10-20 hours/week. We are more than happy to work with students to receive school credits where available. Interns are directly supervised by an experienced staff member and are also given the opportunity to participate for free in festivals that occur during their tenure.

To apply, send a one-page letter that describes your interest in Wilderness Torah and your specific skills and interests, and a one-page resume to jobs@wildernesstorah.org. Please include “Internship Application” in the subject heading. Thank you!
