In the desert, temperatures can be extreme: hot in the daytime and cold at night. Early April averages range from highs in the mid-80s to lows in the mid-40s. Of course we cannot predict the weather so be prepared for being very warm and being very cold. Experience indicates that we may be at the cooler end of the spectrum. High winds are also to be expected – it was very windy at night during last year’s gathering – so caution is necessary with fire at all times, as well as with securing all equipment and tying down all gear so it doesn’t blow away.
