Sukkot on the Farm
October 4th-8th 2012
Celebrate the Harvest • Honor the Waters • Sleep Under the Stars
Wilderness Torah invites you to gather in multi-generational community for the sixth annual Sukkot on the Farm Festival – a four-night camp out and celebration of the fall harvest at Green Oaks Creek Farm in Pescadero, CA.
Come co-create our village and enjoy the Columbus day weekend with farm-fresh organic food, Shabbat and Sukkot celebration, bonfires, music, learning, kids activities, meditation, movement, and more! Reawaken the Water Festival, Simchat Beit Hashoevah, where we honor and call in the waters for the coming year and dance and celebrate with live music on Saturday night!
New housing option this year: If you’d like to stay in a room instead of camping, we will reserve a block of rooms at nearby Costa Noa. There are other local indoor accommodations as well. Let us know if you’re interested!
Propose an Offering: Wilderness Torah events are community created experiences. We invite you to propose a Sukkot Offering! If you’d like to offer a teaching, from pickling or drumming to text study or qi gong, the request for offerings will start Wednesday, July 20th!
Everyone is welcome at Wilderness Torah events. We create pluralistic, multi-generational community celebrations to reconnect us to the earth-based traditions of Judaism. We welcome Jews, non-Jews, interfaith couples, the GLBTQ community, and people of color. We do our best to offer a range of activities so that people of all backgrounds and experience levels can plug in.
Participants should be comfortable in the outdoors and committed to a shared group experience. Prior camping experience is recommended. Please see our Holy Day Observance page for info about Chag Observance. Please join us to learn about and celebrate the holiday of Sukkot!
