The Central Camp
Camp will include a central area with a large sukkah as the focal point for ritual and meals, additional shade structures for programming, a kitchen, hand washing stations, and port-o-potties.
Camping and Lodging Options
We invite you to bring your outdoor sleeping accommodations and set up camp along the perimeter of the main camp or in an adjacent field.
There are also some rooms available at nearby Costa Noa Resort for rent. Cars will be driving 2 miles to and from the farm each morning and evening. See accommodations for more details.
Water
There is plenty of fresh, potable water for us to drink and to use for dishwashing at the farm. Please bring a water bottle with you so you can stay hydrated.
Hand Washing Stations
Hand washing is very important as part of group responsibility; for the safety of everyone, please wash your hands after every time you use the toilet and before each time you enter the kitchen. Stations will be placed near the kitchens and toilets.
Toilets & Showers
Port-o-potties will be provided for you to use while on the farm. There is one outdoor shower with cold water meant for quick rinses only. Too many people using the showers uses too much water and will cause flooding around the shower. Thanks in advance for your cooperation on this.
First Aid
There will be designated people at the festival who are trained in Wilderness First Aid, and there will be a first aid kit for emergencies. Individuals are responsible for their own comfort and safety. It’s a good idea to bring your own basic first aid supplies for your convenient access (bandaids, alcohol wipes, etc).
General Precautions
Keep an eye out for yourself and others:
- Uneven terrain (slips, trips and falls) – Take a breath, stay aware, and slow down – that’s what we’re here for.
- Dehydration – Even if you don’t feel hot, it’s important to drink water even when you don’t feel thirsty.
- Hygiene – Hand washing is very important; for the safety of everyone, please wash your hands EVERY time, AFTER toileting and BEFORE entering the kitchen/food areas.
- Low visibility at night – Bring a flashlight or two and extra batteries, since we will be moving around in the dark.
- Weather – Bring warm layers and bedding; tie down your gear so it doesn’t blow away in the wind.
Farm Rules (from Paul and Steph, the Farmers)
Dear Guests,
Greetings and welcome to our circle of visitors. Since we are welcoming you to the land where we dwell, we ask that you in turn remain mindful of our rules during your stay.
Rules and Cautions:
1) Cars – a) Carpool whenever possible.
b) Shut deer-fence gate behind you on our driveway.
c) Please drive SLOWLY on our dirt road to help minimize dust and road maintenance.
d) Remain parked in parking lot: do not drive around on property.
2) No pets.
3) No mountain bikes.
4) Respect privacy of the 4 dwellings on the property.
5) Do not wander off of Green Oaks property onto neighbors’ properties.
6) Camp in designated camping area only.
7) Fire – a) Always have water present
b) NEVER leave fires unattended – designate someone as fire keeper
c) Put out fire with water when done
d) Don’t leave burning candles unattended
Be aware that mowed areas and trails have significantly less ticks.
9) If you come across a shut gate when walking around, shut it behind you. If you don’t, deer and/or our farm animals can potentially devastate our crops.
10) Do not enter animal paddocks or feed the animals. Much of the fencing around the animals is electric.
11) Quiet time – 11:00 p.m.
